Wayne Kimmel is a sports tech venture capitalist, entrepreneur, podcast host, and author. He is the Managing Partner of SeventySix Capital, the venture capital company he founded in 1999 that invests in sports betting, gaming, and sports tech companies.
The Sports Business Journal named Kimmel a Sports Tech Power Player, Insider named him a Top Sports Venture Capitalist and was awarded the Most Admired CEO award from the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Kimmel was an investor in SeamlessWeb (sold to Aramark and now public as GrubHub), Take Care Health Systems (sold to Walgreens and became their healthcare clinics), NutriSystem, VSiN (sold to DraftKings), Vigtory (sold to FuboTV) and C360 (sold to Cosm). He has also sold companies to Intel, IBM, and Yahoo.
Kimmel also hosts the SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show, a podcast featuring the industry’s top entrepreneurs, athletes, and thought leaders. He is the Chairman of SeventySix Capital Sports Advisory agency, which consults with teams, leagues, family offices, and brands on the future of sports.
SeventySix Capital has a partnership with the American Gaming Association to promote its #HaveAGamePlan responsible sports betting campaign and also has a strategic partnership with Rubicon Talent, a sports marketing and talent agency based in New York City that represents professional athletes, Olympians and sports broadcasters.
Kimmel is on the Advisory Council for the University of Maryland’s Sports Management Program, a collaboration of the Robert H. Smith School of Business, the Department of Kinesiology at the School of Public Health, the Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism, and Maryland Athletics.
Kimmel is also on the Philanthropic Impact Advisory Council of Athletes’ Voices at Harvard University - the premier program for athletes seeking to increase their influence + social impact and on the Board of Powered By Professionals, an organization that specializes in planning and managing charity events, including non-profit fundraising.
Kimmel was named a Top Innovator by Philadelphia Magazine, Philadelphia Business Journal's Power 100 list and the 2022 Titan 100 list. He’s served on the Boards of Einstein Healthcare Network, Jewish Federations of North America, Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
