Mountain West to Utilize Alert360 to Combat Athlete Harassment
Alert360, a white-labeled integrity hotline, creates a trusted communication channel to protect student-athletes
Las Vegas, NV (October 7, 2024) – IC360, the provider of world-class integrity and compliance regtech products and services for the sports betting and gaming sector, expands on existing integrity services to the Mountain West Conference. The Mountain West recently renewed its longstanding partnership with IC360 earlier this fall, and it will now encompass another tool to supplement student-athlete safety at each member institution.
The Mountain West will utilize Alert360, powered by RealResponse, an anonymous reporting mechanism to provide a two-way communication portal for players, coaches, trainers, and fans. This tool ensures the utmost confidentiality and protection in inbound messages regarding personal threats and intimidation, as well as reports of influence attempts on athletes, athletic departments, or the integrity of competitions. The technology provides the user with immediate notification and response from the IC360 Investigations Department with 24/7 visibility and additional diligence.
An anonymous call or text to +1-317-933-8737 allows individuals to report instances of threats, harassment, abuse, or any attempts to influence the integrity of competition. This helps to limit and prevent harm and intimidation toward the student-athletes and staff of the Mountain West Conference. Additionally, reports of athlete harassment can be sent directly to alert@mw.realresponse.com. The Mountain West also has a personalized QR code that directs users to a two-way communication line for reporting.
“Protecting the well-being of our student-athletes as they strive to compete at the highest levels of intercollegiate athletics is of the utmost importance,” said MW Deputy Commissioner Bret Gilliland. “We have great partners at IC360 who have helped the Mountain West develop an effective and proactive approach in the sports wagering space. This addition of the Alert 360 portal to our suite of resources further enhances our efforts.”
“It is paramount that we provide our partners with the technology and resources to create the safest competitive environment for their student-athletes,” says Ali Schempp, IC360 Chief Commercial Officer. “In addition to addressing integrity-related concerns, Alert360 allows anyone to anonymously report instances of harassment and abuse, which have severely negative impacts on the student-athlete, amongst other stakeholders.”
