With their impressive displays of skill, the two soccer mavens known as The F2 Freestylers have gathered more than five million subscribers on their primary YouTube channel. Now, their combined trick shot prowess has landed them a new TV show. F2 hosts Billy Wingrove and Jeremy Lynch will star in It’s Called Football, a TV show co-created by Whistle Sports and the NBC Sports Group that will premiere at 4:30 PM ET on December 26th on the NBC Sports Network.
In each of the six 30-minute episodes of It’s Called Football, Wingrove and Lynch will show off some of their latest and greatest trick shots. Each episode will focus on a specific side from the English Premier League, and as they do on their channel, the F2 guys will bring in big name soccer stars as guests. The first two episodes, which will both be broadcast on Boxing Day, will feature the likes of Mikel John Obi and Shkodran Mustafi.
Some YouTube stars struggle with the transition to TV, but the F2 guys have been given a palpable time slot. The first two episodes of It’s Called Football will directly proceed a highly-anticipated triple-header of Premier League matches. “We’re excited to have our own show on NBCSN,” said Wingrove and Lynch in a press release. “We love visiting the U.S., and are thrilled that the Premier League is growing in popularity there. We know everyone will be blown away by what we’ve filmed!”
The F2 is not the first trick shot YouTube channel to make the leap to TV. Earlier in 2016, the guys from Dude Perfect launched their own show on CMT.
