College Park, MD - April 12, 2023- The University of Maryland Sports Business Society has announced that Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment and SeventySix Capital will sponsor the third annual Maryland Sports Business Conference on April 21st, 2023. Last year, SeventySix Capital was the official sponsor of the inaugural in-person conference. The conference is run by Bradley Polkowitz, Noah Rabinovich, Abby Horick, and Rachel Frank - all current University of Maryland at College Park students.

The 2023 Maryland Sports Business Conference will be presented by Morgan Stanley Global Sports & Entertainment. As the presenting sponsor, they will host a panel titled, “NIL and the Modern Athlete” that will discuss how Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) has changed college athletics from the perspective of agents, players, coaches, and financial advisors. The third installment of the annual event will take place on the campus of the University of Maryland at College Park at Gossett Hall, featuring a series of panel discussions, sponsor-led workshops, and networking opportunities.

Wayne Kimmel, a sports tech venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and Maryland Alum (‘92) will lead a fireside chat with Mike Morrison, the VP of Sports Betting & Fantasy at ESPN and Maryland Alum (‘87), on Thursday, April 20th (the night before the conference) at a invitation-only dinner that will host student leaders, speakers and sponsors of the conference, notable alumni, and the inaugural cohort of the University of Maryland’s Sports Management Program. SeventySix Capital Hosts 2022 Maryland Sports Business Conference

The 2022 Maryland Sports Business Conference presented by SeventySix Capital took place on May 6th, 2022 in the Jones-Hill House, the home of University of Maryland Football.

SeventySix Capital hosted a panel discussion titled “Game-Changing Technologies,” moderated by Wayne Kimmel. Panelists included Playfly Sports executive Jack Krabbe, sports agent and Rubicon Talent Partner Peter Raskin, FORTË CEO Lauren Foundos, and Nerd Street executive Danny Harvith.

Wayne Kimmel then gave the keynote presentation, discussing the impact of technology on sports and sharing his tips for networking.
